I retired from the Air Force reserves in 2003 and Federal Civil Service in 2006.

I've worked as a data switching networks manager, system administrator, system engineer in charge of network/computer security, avionics sensor system specialist, licensed practical nurse, secure communications specialist, and a communications/navigations specialist.

I have been responsible for $265 million dollars worth of equipment and more than 9 employees at once.

A project to upgrade all of the servers and increase their numbers at Soto Cano AB, was began a year before I arrived. I studied the purchase and began making plans to implement the upgrades (Win 2K to Win 2K3 server). Soto Cano’s 128T Tape Library had broken. Not backups had been done for over a year. I learned that a 136T tape library had been ordered with LTO1 drives. By tracking our growth trend I realized that the LTO1 drives would be too slow to backup our current data according to the backup tables provided by our IA team. It would take days to perform a single full backup. Building tables and charts for presentations I convinced the acting project manager to let me talk to J6 and the DELL sales team. I spoke with our purchasing office, J6, the PM, and the DELL sales team. The 136T had not been built and nothing had been shipped yet. I suggested that they withhold 3 of the 24 servers we had ordered and upgrade the LTO1 drives to LTO3 drives. The idea was accepted. With this new configuration our base was able to make its first tape backups in a year, pass a green team evaluation, and a SAV.

Foreign nationals were caught by the Honduran police illegally tapping into US phone lines to record conversations and sell long distance service. I selected members for an investigative team to go to Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The team was sent to image hard drives that were in the custody of the Honduran police and bring them back to Soto Cano AB for the Army (J8). I provided technical support by telephone and assisted in securing the results of the investigation for the Army.

I designed and implemented a proposal to relocate the network operations center (NOC). I designed disaster recovery plans and negotiated procedures with off-site commanders to implement equipment and data storage procedures. I did all this in coordination with Information Assurance (Michael Broady) and our configuration manager (Robert Bennett), making certain that all proposals complied with NSA & DISA guidance.

I have loaded images into Cisco, C1600, C2900, C3500, & C3600 switches.

I have repaired and secured computers and networks for the military, civilian companies, friends, and family members for over 20 years. I have coordinated efforts with several on-line services (America On-Line, CompuServe, Prodigy, MSN, DISA, and GNN) with differing band-widths (Cable, telephone DSL, and Wireless modem/LAN).

I can use my computer experience to help your company. I can install/configure hardware and software. I can do upgrades on hardware and software. I can teach other employees how to do these things.

Training employees always makes a company more valuable and independent.
